Install Internet Information Services (IIS) – Windows 7
Internet Information Services, or IIS, is a technology
included in Windows which provides a security-enhanced, easy-to-manage web server for developing and reliably hosting web applications and web
services. This allows organizations to
deliver rich, web-based experiences. IIS
is not enabled by default on the Windows Desktop editions and must manually be
turned on. The following provides steps
necessary to install IIS features in Windows 7.
1.
Click on Start
or Windows icon on taskbar
2.
Select Control
Panel in right panel window
3.
Select Programs
and Features
4.
Select Turn
Windows features on or off from left panel window
a.
Expand Internet
Information Services tree
b.
Expand all sub-trees
c.
Select
all available features
d.
Select OK

Windows then makes necessary changes to features
and may need to restart for changes to take effect
5.
Close
Programs and Features window when installation completes
6.
Close
Control Panel window
